Compliance Education
HSMN views Hospital Compliance as an opportunity for performance
improvement and has:
- Worked at structuring Partnerships between medical and hospital
staff to focus on improvements in key areas of concern.
- Successfully developed educational material that helps clinical
staff keep the focus on the patient.
- Developed educational material that spans the entire gamut of
the Care Continuum that includes all of the support staff that
help complete clinical encounters, complete documentation and
ultimately bill for resources expended.
- Looked forward in Compliance rather than looking back. Educational
materials are often frustrating when processes in place or procedures,
or systems blunt their effect.
- Reviewed and modified processes so that the education material
is relevant, targeted and useable.
HSMN believes that Compliance is achieved with a multi-pronged
approach, among which is Education:
- HSMN often finds that staff at the clinical level have issues
that have not been addressed and who feel that Compliance represents
another layer of bureaucracy contributing greatly to the confusion
of the staff.
- HSMN has developed techniques that help all levels of staff
internalize Compliance and allow it to be associated with Process
Improvements that help create an environment for financial success.
- HSMN performs a comprehensive analysis of organization, process,
systems and staff understanding of issues in order to create a
Compliance Plan/Education that makes economic sense to the front
line staff.
