Web-based Solutions
HSMN has designed Web-based client solutions for many aspects of
its work in Revenue Cycle Management.
- HSMN has found that staff at all levels are often too busy
to be pulled off line for education on compliance or related subjects.
- HSMN early on has embraced Web-based technologies for its automated
solutions. The reasons are simple:
- It doesn’t require great expense or a participation in the
“licensing game”;
- The applications are instantly available to anyone with
the appropriate authorization;
- The applications are molded for the client user and the
content is adjusted easily for the audience trying to be reached.
- HSMN’s application for “anytime, anywhere” education on compliance
issues, known as PECOS MD ONLINE, initially targeted for Medical
Staff, now has modules for registration clerks, coders, nurses
and other clinical/support personnel. Staff on the firing line
can go home and do their course study in their “free time.”
- HSMN’s application MEDNEXONLINE has
been built so that it is as easily accessible from the doctor’s
office as it is from the admitting office. All this is done with
appropriate inscription and does not require the installation
of hardware.
- This particular Web-based application allows use of signs,
symptoms and coding language to assure that a test ordered
is appropriate and supported by the diagnoses.
