Practice Management
HSMN provides a comprehensive review of all Practice Management
concerns from Revenue and expense to staffing, record management,
costs of doing business and the creation of short- and long-term
business plans.
- HSMN reviews in a detailed on-site visit all of the following
components of practice management:
- Organization of staff and leadership, level of knowledge
and training of staff.
- All office business practices to assure maximum efficiencies
are gained.
- Billing, coding, collections and data management systems.
- Quality and range of services.
- Recruitment and staffing. Resources necessary to reach articulated
financial and practice growth goals.
- Opportunities for improvements to financial picture.
- All current agreements with hospitals and managed care companies
to assure maximum benefit to the practice.
- Determination of future viability and potential opportunities
for growth.
- Review requirements of Stark I and II as they apply to the
practice situation.
- Review compliance with OIG’s recommended Small Practice
Compliance Plan issues in 2000-2001.
- Identify opportunities for improvements.
- Develop material and train staff as necessary.
- Facilitate discussion among practice leadership about the
future.
- Develop transition plans as necessary.
- Provide Interim management as required to implement recommended
management plans.
- In large practices such as Anesthesia:
- Review partnership strategies and financial burdens of existing
agreements.
- Identify practice leadership issues.
- Identify financial difficulties, declining revenues, increased
costs, current environment.
- Restructuring partnerships.
