practice review that includes an analysis of all encounter documentation,
billing and reimbursement issues.
- Medical record documentation and bills are reviewed to assure
compliance with third party guidelines, especially Medicare.
- Remittances are examined to determine why payment has been denied
or diminished.
- All billing tools are examined to assure accuracy of current
coding and consistency with Evaluation and Management Guidelines.
- HSMN reviews the current billing system in place to determine
whether it is robust enough to support the practice.
- HSMN’s review includes a determination of practice compliance
with the Office of the Inspector General (OIG) Small Practice
Compliance Plan.
- After completing reviews, HSMN determines whether or not staff
is skilled enough to correct issues uncovered in the analysis.
- HSMN provides guidance to the Practice staff on all billing
and coding issues.
- HSMN reviews billing and collections to determine whether the
level of Accounts Receivable is acceptable for the size and needed
revenue stream of the practice.
- Finally, HSMN reviews the overall Practice Management to determine
suitability, effectiveness and competence of the current structure.
- HSMN will provide a Comprehensive Management Plan and can
help with its implementation.
